Why Won’t My Rechargeable Work Light Charge?

Charging problems often come from the cable, power source, dirty port, temperature, battery protection, or an aging battery.

Start with these checks

1. Try the manufacturer-specified charger or a known-good compatible cable and power source.
2. Inspect the charging port for debris or damage.
3. Allow an extremely hot or cold light to return to its specified charging temperature.
4. Check the indicator behavior against the product manual.
5. Stop using a battery that is swollen, leaking, unusually hot, or physically damaged.

When to stop

Stop when the fastener, tool, battery, wiring, or equipment shows damage; when the next step would exceed the tool's rating; or when the work requires procedures or training you do not have. Manufacturer instructions and equipment-specific service information take priority over general guidance.
